1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the "Show <> ChatGPT Bridge" Chrome Extension ("Extension"), operated by Franz Enzenhofer (fullstackoptimization.com, "we", "us", or "our"), handles your information. This Extension is designed to facilitate interaction between the ChatGPT service (chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com) and the show.franzai.com web service ("Show Service"). By installing and using this Extension, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

The Extension operates with a focus on minimal data collection necessary for its core functionality:

• User-Initiated Content Transfer: When you explicitly click the "FranzAI", "FranzAI Code", or "✨ ChatGPT" buttons provided by the Extension, the content (text, code, reconstructed Markdown including image URLs) displayed in the relevant section of ChatGPT or the Show Service is processed.
  • ChatGPT -> Show: Content is sent to the Show Service backend (https://show.franzai.com/publish) for temporary storage and generation of a shareable link. The storage duration is determined by the Time-To-Live (TTL) setting.
  • Show -> ChatGPT: Content is retrieved from the Show Service page and prepared for injection into a ChatGPT prompt area in a new browser tab.
  This content is processed solely to fulfill the action you initiated. We do not analyze or store this content beyond the temporary storage required by the Show Service.
• Time-To-Live (TTL) Preference: When you configure an expiration time preference using the Extension's side panel, this numeric value (representing seconds) is stored using the Chrome Storage Sync API (chrome.storage.sync). This preference is associated with your Chrome profile and syncs across your logged-in devices. It is used *only* to set the default expiration time when publishing content from ChatGPT to the Show Service via the extension. We do not associate this preference with any other personal identifier.
• Authentication Token Forwarding (Show Service): To authorize publishing actions to the Show Service, the Extension may need to forward an authentication token (ID Token obtained via Firebase Authentication on show.franzai.com) if you are logged into the Show Service website. This token is requested from the website's context and sent directly to the Show Service backend with your publish request. The Extension *does not* store your Google credentials or manage the login process itself.
• Anonymous Interaction Data (Potential): The Show Service backend (show.franzai.com) may collect anonymous, aggregated data about the usage of its publish endpoint (e.g., number of publishes, content types guessed), but this is governed by the Show Service itself, not directly by the browser extension.
• Error Reporting: The Extension uses the Chrome Notifications API (chrome.notifications) solely to display critical operational errors that occur within the Extension's background service worker (e.g., failure to communicate with the backend). No personal or content data is included in these notifications.

Specifically, the Extension DOES NOT collect or track:

• Your general browsing history.
• Any content from ChatGPT or the Show Service that you *do not* explicitly choose to publish or send using the Extension's buttons.
• Keystrokes or form data outside the specific actions described.
• Personally Identifiable Information (PII) beyond the potential authentication token forwarding if you are logged into the Show Service.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share information only as strictly necessary for the Extension's function:

• Show Service (show.franzai.com): Content published from ChatGPT is sent to this service's backend API. This service is operated by us and hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure.
• Google (Chrome Storage Sync): Your TTL preference is stored using this service, managed by Google as part of the Chrome browser infrastructure.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with other third parties for marketing, advertising, or any purposes unrelated to the core functionality of the Extension.

4. Data Security

We employ reasonable security measures:

• Communication between the Extension and the Show Service backend occurs over HTTPS.
• The Extension requests minimal permissions necessary for its operation.
• Authentication tokens, when used, are handled transiently for the specific publish request.

However, please understand that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Data Retention

• Content published to the Show Service is retained only for the duration of the selected TTL (Time-To-Live) and is then automatically deleted by the Show Service backend.
• Your TTL preference stored via chrome.storage.sync persists until you change it, clear your Chrome sync data, or uninstall the Extension.

6. User Controls and Rights

• You can modify your TTL preference at any time via the Extension's side panel.
• You can view, copy, or fork content published to the Show Service via its web interface (subject to its expiration).
• You can uninstall the Extension at any time via Chrome's extension management page (chrome://extensions/). Uninstalling will remove the Extension's functionality and any data stored locally by it (like the TTL preference in sync storage).

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
